Staff Development Opportunities
Primary
Training will strengthen professional practice through developing and expanding participants' global education skillls and knowledge. All sessions will support teachers to bring a global dimension to the classroom through practical engaging activities.

How to run a Globetrotters Club
A stimulating and active training to equip you to run a global themed club, suitable for KS 2 or 3.
- Ideal as an after-school or holiday club.
- Full session plans are provided, as well as tips on how to run a range of activities.
- This training can be delivered at your school to an individual member of staff or a small group/ full staff meeting.
Cost:
£55 per person. Price includes copy of Globetrotters Handbook for each participant.

Dolls Defying Discrimination
A practical course on how to use Persona dolls in pre-school settings. Persona dolls provide a way of introducing to young children issues such as cultural diversity and caring for each other in a way that encourages positive attitudes and dialogue between children. The training includes:
- What is a Persona doll?
- Why would I use one?
- How to use a Persona doll
- Confidence building for practitioners
- Practical activities
This training is for practitioners working in pairs and it comes in two half-day sessions, separated by a 4 - 6 week gap, during which time practititioners try out what they have learnt in the first session.
Cost:
£600 for up to 50 participants. Participants should provide their own Persona Doll - one between two
Developing Curiosity and Empathy in nurseries and pre-schools
A half-day training in which practitioners explore different activities for introducing a global dimension to their everyday practice. Practitioners also look at their own understanding of issues around global awareness, sharing ideas and approaches. The training includes:
- Photo activities to use with young children
- Appropriate terminology
- Confidence building for practitioners
- Ways of using objects from different cultures with young children
- Resources to use

£300 for up to 20 participants
